And the Others? Here’s How to Help Them Survive Too:
Not all plants are laid-back. Some are a little… sensitive. (Yes, we’re looking at you, Calathea) But don’t worry — these tricks can help.

Use a watering globe or DIY system
A watering globe or upside-down bottle slowly releases water while you’re away — simple, cheap, and effective.

Group your plants together
Plants grouped closely create a mini microclimate, keeping the humidity up and reducing evaporation. Basically, a little plant support group.

Move them out of direct sunlight
Relocate sun-sensitive plants to a spot with bright but indirect light. Less sun = less evaporation = longer-lasting moisture.

Try the towel-in-the-bathtub trick
Lay a damp towel in your bathtub or a shallow tray, place your pots with drainage holes on top, and let them soak up water from below while you’re gone.

Find a plant-sitter (the reliable kind)
Don’t want to DIY it? Ask a friend or neighbor to check in once. Bonus if they talk to your plants while they water them. (It helps. Maybe.)

Bonus: Let Them Vacation Too
Some plants appreciate a little break. Skip the fertilizer for now, water a bit less, and let them rest and recharge — just like you.
In short:
- Choose low-maintenance plants like Snake Plant, ZZ Plant, and Pothos if you travel often
- Help the rest with clever tricks or a trusted plant-sitter
- And most importantly: don’t panic — your plants will probably forgive you (and otherwise... it's time for some new plant buddies)
